Engineered and manufactured by our Industry Partner, Mitigation Technologies, the SafetyDrape® is a security feature designed to mitigate the effects of projectile glass and secondary object debris resulting from an explosion or from other pressurized natural or inadvertent forces. Ideal for new or existing structures, the protective drapes are easy to install and provide both an aesthetic appearance and protective capability. Tested in several explosive threat scenarios, the SafetyDrape® has demonstrated an effective means to capture blast hazard debris. Some additional features include:
- Designed to vent energy resulting from blast overpressure, captures glass and window debris, the number one cause of internal facility injuries and casualties during an explosive attack.
- Qualified Antiterrorism Technology (QATT), under the SAFETY Act by the Department of Homeland Security.
- Engineered, patented, and manufactured in the USA.
- As a vulnerability mitigation tool, counters the threat from Improvised Explosive Devices, the most destructive and emerging terrorist tactic.
- Successfully completed the Government Services Administration (GSA), Level 3, Glass Hazard, Standard Test Method for Glazing and Window Systems Subject to Dynamic Overpressure Loadings.
- Collateral benefits: Protection from foreign object damage, i.e., rocks thrown by lawnmowers, gas line blasts, vandals, and increased protection during weather related threats such as tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes or gale force winds.
